Alani startled most of us with

I have grown Crinum thaianum for about 20 years....
...the foliage which can easily get up to 9-12 ft
long or more....

I guess I better find one this summer and put it into my 6' / 1.83m wide by 12' / 3.66m
long by 4' / 1.23m deep pond and see what happens. My water is routinely over 80 F / 27C
for 6-7 months or more.
