Jim, Never heard of this or anything similar, but then I'm not really up with cultivars. It could be a korolkowii or ancyrensis selection? Bit of a stretch to tout it as a change from the 'yellows, blues and whites'! I don't think I've ever seen a truly yellow crocus - they are all this orange/gold/bronze end of the yellow spectrum.
