Hi Steven, these scams have been around for a few years now. The best advise is not to open any attachment you are not sure about, even if it's from a friend. I'm sure most of our readers would know this by now. I know, I get these scams sent to me all the time, even some claiming they are my service provider! The best protection is to install a good firewall, (not just the windows one), a good virus scanner and make sure you keep them updated at least weekly, even more if you can. Contact your own ISP to see what protection they can offer you too. As for the phone scam, if you get one - just hang up! regards, Bill Richardson Ixiaking West Gippsland Victoria, Australia Summer 16c - 40c at present http://www.angelfire.com/ri/ixia/ profile: http://www.angelfire.com/ri/ixia/author1.html IBS articles: http://www.bulbsociety.org/About_Bulbs/index.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "steven hart" <hartsentwine.australia@gmail.com> To: "Pacific Bulb Society" <pbs@lists.ibiblio.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 4:02 PM Subject: [pbs] Computer virus warning !
