Just a note that didn't make it into the official BS announcement: On my donations of Narcissus bulbs, N. cantabricus "varied" includes the species itself, some closely related species recognized as separate by some authorities and not others, and some selections from the collection of the Walter Blom, as well as self-sown hybrids of these. Most are about 10-14 cm tall in flower, flowering in December and January, flowers pure white to cream. You can ask Luminita for as many as you can use, because I sent a LOT of them. The N. romieuxii, also available in large quantity, include the clone 'Julia Jane' (from a reliable English source), seedlings from an Archibald collection that I find indistinguishable from the clone, and their seedlings. They are about 8 cm tall and flower in January. Both of those are cold-hardy to at least 20 F but the flowers don't stand up well to heavy rain. Excellent pot subjects and would be lovely under shrubs in California. They increase very fast. The N. rupicola was misspelled on the offering but it is the true species, and hardy outdoors here. Acis (formerly Leucojum) tingitana is from North Africa but it is winter-hardy here in Portland, Oregon, in the open garden.
