Last spring I planted out a new open garden bed (chalky, stony, sticky loam) with several pot bound monocot plants, topped up with various bearded iris, one of which is still in bloom. I know one plant was a gift Watsonia (which is nominally too tender here) but not sure now which one it was with so many similar leaves. Can someone remind me of what should be visible now after a prolonged dry hot summer followed by a very wet autumn. I have some fresh yellow/green shoots a few inches high. Is that it? Does it dislike chalk? I think I know what the rest are.
