Dear Jennifer: You are sowing at the wrong time of the year. Littonia seed must be sown in Spring and given warmth until germination takes place (which is usually very good). A mix for it should be very well drained. Small very poisonous pea size tubers will have formed by the time the plants go dormant in Fall. Store them dry for the winter under frost free conditions to restart in Spring in bigger pots. The scarlet pulp that covers the actual seed must be removed before sowing (easy in tepid water).
