This is very annoying as I have to clear the background of junk for 5 yards

One technique from film flower photographers is to stage your subject against a black velvet background.

A simple frame can made from 1/2 inch CPVC plumbing pipe and unglued fittings.

The cloth can be pinned, clipped or draped.

A slit can be cut in the cloth through which a flower is placed. This can also help with exposure and focusing problems that occur with some digital cameras.
