Hey Mike, I use white vinegar to lower the pH of my tap water for indoor plants. I purchased an inexpensive pH test kit on eBay to test the water before and after treatment. I use about 1 teaspoon of white vinegar per gallon of tap water. I purchase the least expensive white vinegar I can find at the grocery store. I can't say that I've seen noticeable improvements in my plants. However, many growers, especially of succulents, rave about the benefits of pH adjustment with vinegar. The best thing might be to purchase a cheap pH test kit and some vinegar to treat your water and then try it on your plants. Let us know how it works out for you. Good luck! It has bloomed for the first time this week. Also received some Ipheion Rolf Fielder and thought I'd include. Curious if any members find adding vinegar to their water is useful in lowering soil PH, for plants The water in San Diego,is about as alkaline as potable water can get.. My neighbors had a lab test their water and PH was between 7,6 and 7.9 over the testing period. They moved here recently and just thought the water was hard, I was a little surprised the PH was that high? I've not used vinegar before for watering plants? However sounds like a cheap natural way to address the issue, thoughts? Mike San Diego no wonder all my friends with rain barrels have beautiful plants.......if it rains. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
