This plant came in two summers ago from SA Bulb. It adjusted well, overcame the hemispheric jet lag, and put up healthy leaves. Last fall, while it was dormant, I up-potted it, added some superphosphate in the bottom of the pot, and left it completely dry. About a week ago, a small green fuzzy sprout appeared, much like the spike on Urginea maritima, and like that much larger species, the stem is now adding about 2" per day. I've begun watering (sparingly) and expect the spike will likely end up twice its current height. I'll post pix when it starts to bloom. This species seems to be hard to find, so I will diligently self pollinate and hope to get seeds to distribute in due course.
