Hi, Jane, the yellow coronatus (pallidulus) is not a hybrid, it just falls within the variability of the taxon. It does cross with rupicola giving x rupidulus, which is a rare hybrid, it was not seen this time. In fact, it crosses with every other Narcissus nearby, even trumpet ones, though those crossings seem to be much more infrequent in nature. It makes a wonderful snow-white hybrid with cantabricus (white takes over yellow here), Narcissus x susannae. I missed as I had to leave early. As I said, as you move more to the west, all coronatus have this sulphur-yellow colour, and they have been named var. lusitanicus.
