We have three species of Dodecatheon in British Columbia. Two have no bulblets (D. pulchellum (syn D. pauciflorum), and D. jeffreyi). Both grow in wet conditions. D. hendersonii, which grows in dry areas from southwestern B.C, south to California, has bulblets present among the roots at flowering time. There is no mention of what happens to those bulblets when the plant is dormant. > Randall P. One of my wildflower books says: "can be interpreted to mean a plant protected by the pantheon” _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… Unsubscribe: <mailto:pbs-unsubscribe@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net>
