Symplocarpus
MARK MAZER AND FREDRIKA MAZER (Sun, 21 Mar 2010 07:49:13 PDT)
I have tried growing Symplocarpus from seed but they rotted on me.
Any suggestions as to how th raise them successfully please.
Greg:
Fresh, uncleaned (leave the gelatinous coating) Symplocarpus foetidus seed
germinates in early spring sown in a mix of half coarse sand and half
milled sphagnum moss (not peat). Seed is pressed firmly into the surface,
watered once from the bottom ( I use a fungicide in the water) and left
outside exposed to the weather.
