help with ID ... I think in the Iridaceae family
Erin Grace (Wed, 17 Mar 2010 03:58:17 PDT)

if the plants are about 14" tall they are too tall for Anomatheca laxa aka
Freesia laxa

also the more common form usually has a blotch of darker color on 3 of the
petals

A neighbor gave this to me but didn't know what it was. Red, six petals,
flower about 3/4-1" across. I'm guessing in the Iridaceae family.

About

14 inches tall with smallish upright, striated sword-shaped leaves

through

which the flower stem emerges. Can any of you folks out there help ID
this?
