"Puce" color

Dear All:
Believe it or not, there is a VW color of some of their cars, and
others, I think Ford, who describe the color of one of their cars as
'puce'. Trot down to the dealers and you will be able to find a color

varieties of Eggplant. Now I can visualize a color I think is mauve, even
describe my version as a medium value pinkish-brown. I cannot really visualize or
describe 'puce' other than a dull eggplant of some variety.
