Fritillaria in California
Marguerite English (Tue, 26 Apr 2011 16:58:02 PDT)
Natives here are Fritillaria biflora. they grow inland on a clay meadow
and roadside bank nearby, and handle our 'no water in summer' climate
well. I can find photos if you wish. Marguerite

I'm planning an article for "Pacific Horticulture" on growing
Fritillaria species in Pacific Coast gardens, and I would welcome
input from any of you who have grown these bulbs in California,
especially the southern part. Many of them should do very well there,
but perhaps not the ones that are in commerce.
Responses, please?
