Southern California is a good place to grow Paramongaia as it comes from a hot desert area where it can be hot during the day but cool at nights. Nothing like most Hippeastrums. If there are differences between day and night temperatures everything will go well. I remember seeing perfect specimens of the winter growing form at the collection of UC Irvine Arboretum.
