I just noticed the first one blooming today, when the sun came out for
about half a day and I rushed out to fertilize all the bulbs and do various
other garden tasks that were hanging over my head. C. sativus does not do
well for me: it seems to resent life in the bulb frame, and in the garden
it is vulnerable to voles. I need to get a good supply of it soon and plant
it in a sunken mesh pot.
