Crocus cartwrightianus is closely related to C. sativus, grows very well in our dry late summer and October rain, and tints our paellas to perfection. C. cartwrightianus is just sending up its green brushes here. In years past it bloomed in mid-November. How pleasing that that cameras nowadays can record date and time without imprinting it on the image.
