Labels for seed pots

Yes, I used something similar - MacPenny labels. They are black on
one side and white on the other so can be scratched on the black and
pencilled on the white. I bought them on a trip to England in 1979
and put them on all my trees, shrubs, and roses. The black has faded
to gray, but the scratched names are still legible, and more
importantly, the plastic is still flexible after 30 years. I just
bent one in half and it did not crack.
