So they are wet in the growing season but the clay become very dry in winter. I personally only grow my plants even the ones out of clay areas in a sandy mix with 50% sandy potting soil and 50% course pine bark potting soil that I also youse for Clivias. Hypoxis is certainly one of the hardies bulbs there is but the seeds take a long time to geminate.
