I noticed something odd about one set of my daffodils this year: Their leaves never died down all summer long and until this recent bout of severe cold, they were still green and alive. They were in a big outdoor flowerpot by the door and they received late afternoon shade. The little muscari that were with them never went dormant either. Can someone explain what happened with these bulbs? The daffodils even have the tips of next spring's foliage showing at the base of the old leaves.
