Dear All, I too got this Moraea villosa cultivar from Bill last spring. It has special meaning for me as he named it after New Zealand artist, Zoe Carter, and I have a wonderful painting of hers. Jim Forrest would send her Moraeas in bud and she would paint them. Mine was in bloom a couple of days, but only sent up the one flower. Maybe next year it will do better when it is used to this hemisphere. I was still thrilled when it bloomed. Bill Dijk has responded to this message on an image list. I copied his pictures and changed the size slightly of the big one and renamed them to our wiki suggestions and added them to the wiki. You can see them on http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… Bill sounded too busy to ask him to do it and I hope he won't mind. The close-up is an awesome picture. Here is what he says, "Hi John, Good to hear from you again, and I am pleased to read that you got a glimse and hopefully see the brilliant iridescent violet-lilac colouration of the peacock iris Moraea villosa "Zoe" tomorrow in the flesh. This hybrid variety is just another of the many colour variations (I selected) that Moraea villosa can produce. If you don't manage to have a look at it, here are a couple of pictures of M.villosa "Zoe" for you to have a look at. I hope the rest of the bulbs will eventually settle down and acclimatise to produce more of the same. If you want any more info on this variety, contact me personally. Enjoy, Best wishes, Bill D.
