I've checked a couple of books - the new Bulbs of North America, and Plants of Coastal British Columbia including Washington, Oregon & Alaska, by Pojar and MacKinnon that describes in detail how the bulbs were cooked, and there is no mention of any difference. They are apparently just your everyday generic 'bulb', not even distinguishable from death camas (zygadenus) except when flowering. (an aside: Zygadenus is spelled Zigadenus in the U.S. book. Why is that?) Diane Whitehead
