I thought the butterfly place was in the Crystal Palace, if not I take back my remarks about it! There were also bats and I think monkeys there? Or some really odd animals that were very interesting. Lots of birds, waterfalls, and crotons.

in addition to the butchart garden and the crystal
palace within victoria, there's also a butterfly
conservatory whose name i forgot. it's small as is
the crystal palace, but it can be interesting if you
have the time to visit.
