Vancouver Island visit

Hi All

I will be staying with friends on Vancouver Island for the second half of
April this year, half way up the east coast. Can any list members recommend
places I should not miss, that are suitable for a days drive in the way of
plants, wildlife or scenery, in that order, that my non plant addict hosts
may not be aware of. If I extended my trip any recommendations for a weeks
car rental trip starting from maybe Vancouver city, at this time of year,
i.e. the last week of April or first in May. I have not booked my return
flight yet so some flexibility.

I have cross posted this message. Please reply off list, unless your reply
is of general interest to all.
