Hi All; Boy, did I join this list just a tad too late! I have been looking for a Brunsvigia for over fifteen years, when I first saw one in bloom while visiting at a friend's summer camp. It was sitting in a pot on the porch. I had no idea what it was then, but strongly suspected that it was in the amaryllis family and was not able to confirm its identity until a year later. By then it had travelled on to parts unknown. I have been following the Topic of the Week with great interest and hope that, in the future, I will be able to make a contribution to these discussions. Some fascinating plants being discussed on this list and it is heartening to know that there are so many others that are growing successfully, or attempting to grow (my category) various "exotic" bulbs and tubers under less than ideal conditions.
