Hi Carol, If you go to caladiumworld.com and scroll to the bottom you will find a link to storage tips. They must be kept warm at all times. The Web site now says to store them at 65 F / 17C or higher; for years it said 70 F / 21C. I grow them in pots and am able to keep them warm through the winter, so I don't dig them. I buy a mixed colors and sizes bulk box every few years. They are far less expensive this way. Though reputed to be shade plants, they tolerate much more light than people realize. Caladium World grows them in fields in Florida in full sun. If kept moist I can grow them in the ground with at least a half day's full Arizona sun and heat, and not have leaf burning. Pots in the sun heat up too much here. If I lived in most of the rest of the US or Europe I would feel confident planting them in full sun. Leo Martin Phoenix Arizona USA Zone 9?
