Hey John and Bob,

I too used the efile and while quick to set myself up, I was only looking
to import one type of bulb, and don’t remember an option to chose a general
or various option. I believe there is a phone number locally I can call.
I’ll see what they have to share. I’ll certainly report back what I
experience and be sure at this point to document as best I can…thanks to
you both.

Thanks all and have a great weekend,

Mike

Just to reiterate. This is new. As of Sept 27, the old way of putting in
various eligible tax no longer exists. Their rejection of my application
says you have to use efile which has no mechanism for putting in something
sensible like ‘various eligible taxa’. — jw

I had problems with this section too as it would be much easier if it

send genera or species instead of articles. If I remember correctly you
need to attach a spreadsheet file and can’t just add one genera at a time
online.

It’s absurd to have to list every possibly thing you may want to

import. In the past “all applicable” was acceptable but now you must list
individual genera. I tried to think of everything I’ve ever imported or
could possibly plan to.

I can see it being a major hassle for those importers dealing with

hundreds of genera.

I can't help John get through the website, but on his other question,

how this would work with seed exchanges: A US person wishing to order seed
from another country sends one of the labels supplied with their Small Lots
permit to the supplier (including, e.g., the AGS seed exchange), who will
attach it to the parcel. This label notifies APHIS that the contents are
being imported under permit. A US organization wishing to receive seeds
from other countries can also obtain a Small Lots permit and send a label
to each foreign donor for their use. As far as I know, the US-based PBS
exchange hasn't yet obtained a permit.

Has anyone tried to get through the latest revision to the small lots

of seeds permitting process? I’m stuck on the page that wants you to
attach articles to the application…

I don’t understand how this would work with seed exchanges.
My latest application was voided because you now need to use this new

efile portal which doesn’t seem to work for small lots of variable
