Dear all I am responding to Leo's message asking about pre-packaging, but this is valid for anyone that would want to send in a donation of seeds and is so inclined to pre-pack. If you need a few glassine envelopes, let me know, I will mail you some. Usually we pack seeds depending on the size of the seeds and amount available. There should be enough seeds to sow a 4 x 4 in pot, or if countable, 15-30 seeds depending on availability. We had an offering of the cyan crocus from Chile, and the share for that was only 3 seeds. Ask me if you are unsure about the amount. If we have ample amount, the share can be generous. Leo is right - we don't know the exchange number and the order number, but you can leave the marking blank, as long as I can identify what the seeds are. And no need to pre-pack the entire amount of seeds, 5-10 pre packaged seeds is sufficient, if more are needed I can do that. If I get 10 pre-packaged envelopes, aggregated with another that is labeled what it contains and the extra seeds, I will be happy and it will lessen my work. Some donations came in in glassine envelopes, labeled with the contents, and I just added the xchange number and the order number to clarify to the person ordering what they were getting. This is for the seeds. For the bulbs - it is a little different, because of the variation in sizes. When the bulbs are small - they can be pre-packaged, but it's easier to ship all bulbs in one bag, paper or plastic. Bulbs are easier to deal with, I think - but all the alpine and miniature species we had recently - it did take a while. Thank you Leo for suggesting this. And thank you all for helping out not only donating, but pre-packing.
