If the seeds have much moisture content (e.g. Paeonia), the paper coin envelopes can eventually lose their glue and split open, but I haven't seen this happen with glassines. I use a lot of paper ones if I'm harvesting seeds because they will hold the entire capsules, and you can write on them with anything. Also, and importantly for mailing, the glassines are less bulky and lighter in weight.
