Glassine envelopes can be obtained with a self-sealing band to stick down the flap, or without it. I strongly recommend those without the self-sealing band, because seeds will stick to it when the packet is filled. You can seal the envelope using a glue stick (which also takes practice). The plastic zip-close bags are awful for seeds, not just because of the danger of mold, but also because most seeds will cling to the inside of the bag and be hard to remove, evoking adult language on the part of the recipient.
