Oh, and some fertilizer to encourage growth! Not Oxalis, but that was one of the things we did...mow it down, water and fertilize, wait for it to start coming up lushly, and cover it with black plastic. Good luck! Took me 3 years to knock down a yard of pes-caprae with less brutal methods (pull everything, dig the big resprouts, nuke everything; repeat weekly vigilance). Of course, that section of the yard was barren for three years. Now I see a sprig emerging rarely...other parts of the yard get much less problematical Calla Lily sprouts randomly. Of course it would have been much less work to bag the whole area for a year.
