Many winter-growing Oxalis start to grow in August in California. Plant it right away with the sprout *sideways* about half an inch under the surface in very well-drained mix, and water the pot once a week. In future years, start watering in August. Keep the pot in a fairly shady spot until the leaves show up above the ground. The spindle-shaped Oxalis seem to mostly grow on their sides (in other words, with both pointy things growing to the sides, not with one up and one down). Have fun, Mike San Jose, CA
