Dear Jim,
I'm growing some Arums here. They bloom at the end of the growing season.
E.g.: A. cylindraceum defoliates after the inflorescence has passed.
This is the same with Dracunculus.
Arisaema and Pinellia flowers at the beginning of theig growth.
Corydalis behaves the same, 2 weeks after the flowers have died off seeds
ripening and the same time the plant yellows.
I think, this is because they grow in woods.
Bye,
Jani
