Dear Jane, I love this species as it is very reliable for me in coastal Northern California. We have some descriptions and photos on the wiki. According to the Robinetts there were three distinct forms. Also this species was featured in Mariposa, Volume 12, combined issue 3 & 4. I can copy it and mail you the text if you weren't a member of the Calochortus Society when it was published if you would like. It's a little long to try to summarize. Mary Sue
