Richard, Try the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. I got plants from them 6-7 years ago. It is not grown all over the Southwest and has rather narrow requirements in my experience, heat being one of them. Really it needs hot days and warm, sultry nights to grow well. Also, a long winter-spring dormancy when it should be totally dry (I don't know how much water it would put up with while dormant). It is a geophyte and keeps some stems above ground always. Shy to bloom for me. They are beautiful flowers.
