They flower better if they receive an occasional watering in the summer

Hello Martin,

I also ordered Amaryllis belladonna Rose foncé from the same supplier and was quite impressed with the size of the bulbs. They were planted in autumn 2018 in the open garden here in Portugal and have produced vigorous clumps of foliage, much broader than the local pale rose one which is here, too. But even in perfect conditions only 3 or 4 have flowered this autumn. Somewhere on the website of the supplier and somewhere in the back of my mind is the notion that they resent disturbance and need more than one season to establish. There seem to be exceptions, though...... but for my part I am not worried, I see magnificent displays everywhere in established gardens, patience required ........

Bye for today
