I agree with Bert - it is a Strumaria, probably S truncata, but a burgundy
brown cataphyll at the base of the flower stem will confirm that. I don't
believe the leaves shown in the second picture are from the same plant.
Perhaps there is something else in the pot with the Strumaria.
