I have seen the actual plant and it appears to be a weird morph of probably A. namaquensis, much larger and much more robust that is bred as a bedding plant. The flowers on the plants are deformed, which makes me think it's a by-product of breeding it for size. I think it's one of those that can take year round water as long as it doesn't get very hot so you can just keep it going.
