Mary Sue certainly is correct that the bulb I photographed in the jungles of Peru looks like Cipura paludosa posted by Germán Roitman. I'm not familiar with this family, so I don't know how many other possibilities there are. I didn't really have time to poke into the structure of the flower, so if there is more than one Cipura from that location (Peru) that has this appearance, it will be impossible to give it a species name. At least until I go back to look at it again, or ask someone visiting the Explorer's Inn to send another picture, showing the interior. The internet sure has changed how we can do research, eh? Dave
