I've been on a similar search. After speaking with a few people, these two chemicals are coming into use and will probably replace the neonics. I have not used them - $$$. They are less toxic to bees, but quite toxic to chewing insects including butterfly larvae. They appear to have a longer halflife and others and do not break down quickly in some circumstances.
