To All US Members who ordered bulbs in the recent group purchase, judging from my order it looks like most things didn't suffer from the inexcusable delays caused by DHL, but very tiny species will have succumbed to desiccation. We will need to know the extent of losses so we can decide whether it is worthwhile for Leigh to file a claim or not; realistically, items that are only a dollar or two can be written off to experience, and replacement is likely impractical. Anyway, please help us get a grip on the magnitude of the problem. When you unbox your stuff, examine everything carefully, and if anything is obviously shriveled up, please note the item and price, and if possible, take a quick picture of the item(s). Email info and photo to me at: boblauf@att.net and I will aggregate everything and send the report to Leigh. DO NOT SEND TO THE LIST! After the dust settles, we will be sending out a survey to get your feedback on this enterprise and in particular on your opinions as to the value for the money. Please note that in their final screw-up it appears that DHL mistakenly charged us for Customs duty when, in fact, there should not have been duties on this shipment. Naturally I have begun the process of clawing this back, which will be another 3-week saga, but if successful, everyone will get a refund later. The amount in question was over $1100. I'm not making this up. Don't spend it yet, but it could reduce the final cost of the bulbs by nearly 20%. We will distribute the survey after we all have clarity on this item. Speaking only for myself, the size and quality of my bulbs was up to Leigh's usual high standards. So I think this is a pretty happy ending, an outcome that wasn't at all clear several weeks ago when DHL was sending one box back to South Africa! Luckily for us, bulbs are pretty tough.
