I just read this on another mailing list... I know Jon was a prolific
hybridizer of many genera of plants. I was most fond of his work with
Gesneriads, as well as his Agave Manfreda & Polianthes intergeneric
hybrids. He was a fellow PBSer, too.

Many of you have already seen this on Facebook or elsewhere, but Jon
Lindstrom's brother Scott posted this on Jon's Facebook page yesterday:

"Dear Friends of Jon -- Jon died on May 30, 2013 from cancer, a melanoma
that spread to his bones and then brain lining. The decline once it entered
his brain was swift. He died in Hospice in Fayetteville, with this brother
Scott (typing this) by his bed. More details to follow."
