Window flowers

I am only familiar with windows in carnivorous pitcher plants, Sarracenia.
The theory is that once under the hood of the pitcher, the insect mistakenly
thinks the window is a way out and is lured further into the trap. I have
no experience with windows on flowers, but seems like Nhu's explanation
makes good sense... that it must have something to do with the plant's
relationship with insects.
