I don't know what trough cultivation is, but a 1 gal. pot with 8-10 bulbs of Teco. is absolutely amazing in bloom and the leaves are short and low-lying. T. violiflora (sp?) are even smaller, but so is the flower and it's not all that spectacular compared to its cousin species. The thought occurred to me that a trough covered with clumps of the pure blue T. cyanocrocus interspersed with clumps of a miniature yellow Narcissus all in full bloom would be a truly amazing sight. --Lee Poulsen Pasadena area, California, USDA Zone 9-10
