Hippeastrum rescue
Fred Biasella (Sat, 17 Dec 2016 15:03:45 PST)

Hi Dennis,

You my friend have just come across the dreaded Narcissus Bulb Fly larva. I
have been dealing with these little buggers for a long time. When you have a
chance go to
http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/… and look at the
archives for this sucker and potential ways of rescuing your hippi. Good
luck.

Fred

HOLY CRAP!!! I cut into my bulb and found live caterpillars inside.
GROSS! What are they?? I never heard of anything in Ohio that would eat a
Hippeastrum bulb from the inside out. YUCK.

Does anyone know a good site that teaches how to rescue a partially
rotted Hippeastrum bulb?

I'm not sure if I should try to rescue the whole bulb, or chop it up
into smaller pieces.
