Most likely Narcissus bulb fly
Happened to a couple of mine I left outside for the summer.
I think there's a picture on the PBS site.

HOLY CRAP!!! I cut into my bulb and found live caterpillars inside. GROSS! What are they?? I never heard of anything in Ohio that would eat a Hippeastrum bulb from the inside out. YUCK.

Does anyone know a good site that teaches how to rescue a partially rotted Hippeastrum bulb?
I'm not sure if I should try to rescue the whole bulb, or chop it up into smaller pieces.
