Dell asked I want to plant, in the grass, Crocus tommasinianus, Puschkinia libanotica, Scilla siberica ‘Spring Beauty’, and some reliable Muscari selection. ... Can anyone recommend a source for all of these genera/species in quantities of a hundred for a “reasonable” price? .................. John Scheepers or Van Engelen. Both have websites, bulk quantities, good quality, reasonable prices. On the Muscari, I would stay away from the "reliable" ones (e.g. armeniacum) because they quickly multiply to form crowded clumps that can outcompete other bulbs. Here Muscari latifolium is better-mannered, but I have read it is weedy in some climates. There is a photo in the Scheepers catalog of Ipheion uniflorum naturalized in grass; perhaps I will relocate some to the bulb lawn. I also like the really short Ornithogalum species such as O. orthophyllum; Scheepers has O. balansae which is not too tall. Anemone blanda is nice; go for "Blue Shades" rather than the color mix which has some unpleasant colors in it; and that goes for Chionodoxa colors too. jane McGary ' Portland, Oregon, USA _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.ibiblio.org http://pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/
