Summer treatment of Nerine sarniensis

AH,
This is a great topic. I, also water my Nerines in the summer, lightly.
Certainly, no fertilizer, but grow all Nerines in clay pots, so they do NOT
stay wet. Works for me.

We've discussed this numerous times on this list. Many of us are converts
to watering this species in summer and have found that we are much more
successful in having it bloom for us. Add me to that column. It makes me
wonder what other dormant Amaryllid bulbs might need the same treatment
during dormancy. For newer members of our list who grow Nerines I'd like
to
direct you to the excellent introduction to this genus provided by Hamish
Sloan that explains why this is necessary.
