Dear PBS ers, Carlo's comment reminded me of the 'other' species. C. vansonii is fairly around- at least available in both typical white flowered and a less common pink flowered form. C. haemanthoides is much less available, but can be hunted down in a nursery or two. The third species C. densiflorus seems unknown in cultivation and poorly known in general. Does anyone have experience with this plant. ? No one has pointed out how distinct the first 2 species are from each other. They might defy recognition as congeneric by the casual observer and it sounds like the third species is equally different. C. vansonii is available as seed from Silverhill and not difficult to grow. Just curious about C. densiflorus. Jim W. -- Dr. James W. Waddick 8871 NW Brostrom Rd. Kansas City Missouri 64152-2711 USA Ph. 816-746-1949 Zone 5 Record low -23F Summer 100F +
